How to Grow Gel Balls for Optimal Performance

Properly hydrated gel balls are essential for achieving the best accuracy, range, and feeding performance from your gel blaster. Following the correct preparation process helps prevent jams and ensures a smooth shooting experience.

1. Soak the Gel Balls for 3–4 Hours

Place the dry gel balls in clean water and allow them to soak for 3–4 hours. This gives them enough time to absorb water and expand to their proper size.

Tip: Avoid using gel balls that haven't fully hydrated, as they may cause feeding issues.

2. Use Plenty of Water

Pour the gel balls into a bucket, bowl, or any large container with plenty of clean water. A good starting ratio is:

  • ½ teaspoon of dry gel balls per 8 ounces (≈240 ml) of water

Using more water is always better, as it allows every gel ball to expand evenly without restriction.

3. Allow the Gel Balls to Reach Full Size

The gel balls need enough space and water to grow completely. If there isn't enough water, they may remain undersized, leading to poor accuracy, reduced range, or magazine feeding problems.

Best Practice: Make sure the gel balls are fully submerged throughout the soaking process.

4. Drain All Excess Water

Once the gel balls have finished growing, drain away all remaining water before loading them into your magazine.

Leaving excess water in the magazine can affect feeding performance and, over time, may cause unnecessary wear to your gel blaster.

5. Load the Magazine

Fill the magazine with the fully hydrated gel balls until it is full, then insert it into your gel blaster. Your gel blaster is now ready for smooth and reliable operation.

Enjoy the Best Performance Every Time

Taking a few minutes to prepare your gel balls correctly makes a noticeable difference in performance. Fully hydrated gel balls feed more consistently, improve accuracy, reduce the chance of jams, and help your gel blaster operate at its best.

For the most enjoyable experience, always use freshly hydrated gel balls and prepare them according to these guidelines before each session.
